Ferrari
275GTB4
Here we follow the journey of the incredible 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB. Another one of our projects. This stunning Ferrari was booked for our Paint correction and classic detailing by Master Detailer Mr. Chiba.
In 1967, Ferrari renamed the 275 to reflect its new four cam engine. It was an important evolution of Ferrari’s signature sports car that already had 4-wheel independent suspension, disc brakes, a 3.3-liter V12 and one of Pininfarina’s best body designs.
At the 1966 Paris Auto Salon Ferrari launched the GTB/4 with the new Tipo 226 engine. It benefited from a variety of upgrades introduced into the series that were tried and tested in the 275 competition models. Upgrades included a long nose bodywork, a torque tube driveline and an engine capable of 300 bhp with a dry sump lubrication system.
The move to the quad cam engine was motivated by Ferruccio Lamborghini who spent a fortune making engines that were more radical than Ferrari’s. The quad cam kept Ferrari on pace, but it could be argued that sales brochure figures were the primary beneficiary of the GTB/4’s introduction since any actual performance increase was slight.
The GTB/4 was the last incarnation of the 275 and was replaced by the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. In total, almost a thousand examples were made and only a handful of these were made with aluminum bodies and even less were delivered as NART Spyders.

SERVICES
Level 4 Classic Detail
The level 4 multi-stage paint correction we will be removing all of the swirls, and all but the heaviest of scratches and defects. This process starts with a heavy compounding machine polishing stage to remove the defects, and then followed by a secondary polishing stage to refine the finish and increase gloss and clarity. We will get rid of 80-95% of all defects.

BEFORE AGERRA TREATMENT
As with an other job, we fully inspected every centimetres of this beauty with different light sources to find all of the defects and develop a plan of attack to bring this 275 Ferrari up to a level that it deserves in a short period of time. Indeed we had maximum two days to treat this baby. We took multiples paint measurements and we agreed to use the knowledge of Master Detailer Mr. Chiba.
We can usually guarantee full correction of 95% of paint defects present. However on this car we agreed to go for only 85% since no time was given to us. We can say that when we first saw the car as you can see as well through the pictures before treatment, our first instinct was to ask for a full re-spray of the car to restore the paintwork. The target was also to keep the the original orange peel aspect of the surface and not go for full correction. Classic detailing!

Preparation
WE START WITH TAPES TO PROTECT
Depending on the level of paint correction we would have different surface preparation. We do machine polish the surface till removal of scratches and any swirls. We do wash waterless, decontaminate / clay, machine polish, and then use Gyeon Prep to fully remove all of the polishing oils from the paint.

After
AFTER AGERRA TREATMENT
After our paint correction process clarity was restored without removing the orange peel. Light is perfectly reflected and the color of the vehicle is greatly enhanced leaving a breathtaking finish, in some cases leaving it in better condition than the day owners vehicle left the factory.
Fully polished, and first coated with the brilliant and durable KAMIKAZE Miyabi Coat and finally waxed with Infinity wax. The depth and clarity of this paint when we were done was stunning.
Not only does the paint look absolutely stunning after treatment, but the combination of Miyabi coat as protective coat and infinity wax will provide very durable, and long-lasting protection. Maintenance / cleanup will be much easier, and the high level of gloss will last for years. One of the features of this coating is that harmful and destructive contaminants won’t stick to the surface as easily.
